Nuclear Diving
In June 2004, Underwater Construction Corporation performed diving activities at a nuclear plant in Michigan as part of the decommissioning process. UCC installed two 60 inch mechanical plugs for the cool-water intake line. After the installation, divers pumped 4,000 psi grout mix between the plugs to form a locking barrier from the lake to the intake crib. The project duration was two weeks.
