Inspecting and/or servicing components located inside an underwater structure is challenging for commercial diving companies. Underwater tunnels and pipelines are meticulously inspected utilizing experienced divers, remote operated vehicles (ROV) and/or a team of both which is often the case. Each project is assessed individually for hazards and inspection methods. Specialized equipment and technology is chosen dependent on the project scope, water depth, tunnel length, access and water visibility just to name a few. Sonar technologies aid in navigation while cross sectional measurements help with data gathering and hazard awareness.
