Preventative maintenance and component replacement is routinely completed for many industries requiring water resources. Across industries, from power generation to food processing, valves, pumps and associated equipment are inspected, installed, adjusted and replaced. At UCC, our highly skilled and dedicated team specializing in diver mechanic services diligently carries out these essential tasks.

Specialized Underwater Support for Critical Infrastructure

In challenging environments, whether submerged or exposed to warm, cold, or low-visibility conditions, UCC’s diver mechanics consistently excel in providing comprehensive underwater marine services. Our diver mechanic services team plays a crucial role for customers needing assistance dewatering systems or seeking to significantly reduce dewatering costs.

As water resource components age, necessary pump replacement or rebuilds are scheduled to be performed. Valves, gates, bulkheads and/or stop logs first should be assessed to prepare the systems for pump removal or other component isolations.

Recently, a diving team from UCC’s Wisconsin Office provided diver mechanical services for a major power generation public utility in the Northern Midwest. Working on one generating unit at a time, UCC’s diver mechanical services team removed 50- year -old pumps to ship out for refurbishment. In conjunction with the pumps, existing isolation valves were removed and replaced. Once the pumps were returned from refurbishment, our diver mechanics re-installed and moved on to the next unit.

Honoring the Dedication of UCC’s Diver Mechanics

As a company founded by divers, UCC understands the complexity and commitment this work demands. Our leadership team values the legacy of hands-on expertise that still defines the company today. UCC’s senior leadership expresses their gratitude and appreciation for this hard working group of divers throughout the U.S. and abroad.

“It’s no doubt that our competitive edge is our dedicated people,” commented Michael Pellini, UCC Co-Chairman, when asked his thoughts on the Diver Mechanic’s day-to-day job. “Forty years ago, I was a young diver completing very similar work scopes as we do today, so I can appreciate the hard work it takes to safely and successfully complete the job that continually exceeds our customer’s expectations.”
