Meet Underwater Construction Corporation (www.uccdive.com) at the National Hydropower Association 2022 Northeast Regional Meeting in Baltimore, MD, June 27-28, 2022.

The National Hydropower Association (NHA, www.hydro.org) is a nonprofit association dedicated exclusively to promoting the growth of clean, renewable hydropower through their Path to Clean Energy initiative.

With seven offices strategically located throughout the United States, UCC is proud to support the hydroelectric generation members of the NHA.

Underwater Construction Corporation (UCC) is a premier provider of power plant diving services, specializing in underwater hydroelectric dam maintenance for the hydropower industry. UCC understands that the United States’ essential, carbon-free, renewable energy resource is waterpower, and maintaining these facilities is of national vital importance.

Conowingo Hydroelectric Facility“We are especially pleased that this year’s NHA facility tour will be to Constellation Energy’s Conowingo Dam. For more than two decades, UCC has been its commercial diving contractor, performing inspection and maintenance; previously for Exelon Corporation, and now Constellation,” said Philip McDermott, UCC’s Vice President of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions. “With our newest office located in neighboring Glen Burnie, MD, this year’s NHA meeting location in Baltimore is fitting.”

Vermont Waits River DamUCC’s underwater services to hydropower plants include sediment and sludge dewatering; water intake inspection and maintenance; underwater coatings; and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) services. We support these services with Geotube® engineered textiles and the Smartfeed® slurry chemical conditioning system. UCC is known for safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness that the hydro industry deserves and expects.
